(BEDFORD) - The Limestone Heritage Festival celebration will be held on Friday June 29th and Saturday June 30th ,
2018.
This year's celebration will include Live Music, Food Vendors, Beer Garden, Limestone Carving Exhibition, Bedford Farmers Market, Downtown Architectural Walking Tour, the Limestone Heritage Festival Parade will be at 6 p.m. Saturday with a Fireworks Display at dusk.
BBQ at the Quarry will change its course for 2018. The Limestone Heritage Festival Planning Committee has opted to eliminate the BBQ cook-off contest to accommodate more food vendors downtown. Feedback from the community has been that additional food vendors are desired and therefore the committee is working to expand the number of food trucks and vendors for our downtown celebration. The Limestone Heritage Festival will still feature BBQ at the Quarry, however, the focus of this element in our festival is on BBQ food vendors.
By eliminating the cook-off contest, the Limestone Heritage Festival Planning Committee was also able to reallocate financial resources towards our festival entertainment.
Tuesday July 3rd , will serve as a rain date for the Limestone Heritage Festival Parade and Fireworks Display. In the event of inclement weather, the Parade will move to an 8 p.m. step off, with the Fireworks Display at dusk.
In addition to the Downtown celebration, the Rotary Fish Fry will take place from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Thornton Pavilion on Friday June 29th.
On Wednesday July 4th , the Annual Veteran's Breakfast at Golden Corral will begin at 7:30 a.m. Also on Wednesday July 4 h , at the Thornton Pavilion are performances by the Residue Band from 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. and the Bedford Community Band from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
