Lightning Strike Causes House Fire In Ireland

(IRELAND) - Dubois County and Ireland firefighters were called to a fire in at 621 South Dubois County Road 400 West.

Ireland Fire Chief Stan Seifter says the call came in at 10:40 p.m. Monday concerning a house fire caused by a possible lightning strike.

When firefighters arrived they found flames in the attic of the home and were able to knock them down with fire extinguishers.

There were no injuries.

Seifert said the home was occupied and owned by James Corbin.

The department was on scene for over an hour.
