Lawrence County's Unemployment Rate Drops To 3.9 Percent

(UNDATED) - Lawrence County’s jobless rate dipped below 4 percent - 3.9 percent. At this time last year the jobless rate in Lawrence County was 4.9 percent. The county ranks 18th in the state for unemployment rates.

In Greene County, unemployment stood at 4.6 percent, tying with Owen County for the 8th highest jobless rate in the state.

Daviess County had an unemployment rate of 2.6 percent in March; four-tenths percent lower than March of last year. Martin County also had a jobless rate of 2.6 percent last month.

Dubois County had a jobless rate of 2.3 percent, down five-tenths percent from the year before.

In March, Vermillion County had the highest rate at 5.6 percent. LaGrange County had the lowest at 2.2 percent.

Indiana's March unemployment rate remained unchanged from February at 3.2 percent. The nation's unemployment rate is 4.1 percent.
