Judah Heritage Festival Scholarship Pageant Creates Little Miss Pageant

Last updated on Thursday, April 12, 2018

(JUDAH) - The Judah Heritage Festival Scholarship Pageant will hold a the Little Miss Pageant competition along with the Queen Pageant at the 2018 Judah Heritage Festival.

"We're going to try this as a trial run. We are hoping to add more age groups next year if it goes well," said Heather Machida, Judah Heritage Festival Scholarship Pageant organizer.

The new age group will be available for 3rd-5th grades for the 2018-2019 school year.

The pageant will be modeled after the Queen Pageant with the interview, theme wear and formal portions. There will be a $500 scholarship offered to the winner of the Queen Pageant only.

They will crown a Queen, a Little Miss, their courts and a Miss Congeniality for each competition. There will also be a Miss Awareness and Little Miss Awareness for the contestants who raise the most charitable money.

The theme is "More Than Just a Princess" where contestants will pick a princess, fictional or real, and portray how they think their chosen princess would be in public and how she would lead.

"Disney costumes just wont do (we don't want 3 Cinderella's in blue costumes). We really want your spin on things down to the outfit! Be thinking on all mentioned above, also on how you relate to her as you will need to write something to be read as you present your theme wear," said a Judah Heritage Festival Scholarship Pageant Facebook post.

Those interested in signing up can find registration forms at Johnny Junxtions at 385 Hillcrest Way or they can message the Judah Heritage Festival Scholarship Pageant on the pageant's Facebook page.

Only the first 20 registrations will be accepted into the competitions.
