James Lee Hutchinson Guest Speaker At Bloomington Amateur Radio Club Meeting May 11

Last updated on Thursday, April 26, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - A talk by James Lee Hutchinson, a Hoosier educator who mentored Indiana-born Astronauts Charlie Walker and Ken Bowersox, will be presented at the Bloomington Amateur Radio Club on May 11, rather than on the 4th.

This is due to a conflict at City Hall. Hutchinson, a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent in the North Lawrence Community Schools was awarded for his work by the honorable Governor Mike Pence. Hutchinson earned his Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, and Education Specialist Degree from Indiana University. Prior to that, he made Technical Sergeant in the US Air Force after going to radio school to be a radio specialist and gunner in the B-17 Flying Fortress during World War II.

Hutchinson has fascinating stories to share.

The meeting will be Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in the Bloomington City Hall - Council Chambers (Room 115), at 401 North Morton Street.

All club meetings are free and open to the public. Use the southeast entrance of the Showers Building. Limited seating is available.
