Deadline To Request Absentee Ballot For May 8th Primary Election Is Today

(BEDFORD) - If you can’t make it to the polls on Election Day, you can vote early in-person or absentee - but the deadline to request an absentee ballot is today.

To cast an absentee ballot by mail in the 2018 Primary Election, you must request an application from the county clerk's office by 11:59 p.m. today.

Applications may be submitted in person, by fax, email or by mail.

You can cast your ballot by going to your county clerk's office.

Those wanting to vote early can do so until May 7th at Noon.

Residents can vote from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Voter registration office in the lower level of the Lawrence County Courthouse. The office will be closed from Noon until 1 p.m. for lunch.

Early voting will also be available on Saturday April 28th and May 5th at both the Voter registration room and Emerson Gym in Mitchell from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The primary election is Tuesday, May 8th.

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. local time.
