Colored Pencil Artists At The Wiley Art Gallery

(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Art Association will host a first public viewing of art works from the students of Barry
Powell, beginning with a reception on Friday, April 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Wiley Art Gallery.

Powell's students paint with colored pencils, a fascinating art medium offering a rich palette with diverse creative potential. This show will feature the talented artistry of Pam Bell, Sally Collins, Janet Cunningham, Paula Dunlap, Shirley Green, Beth Houlette, Lee Hutchinson, Pat Hutton, Sue Pentzer, Donna Sanders, and of course, Barry Powell. In addition, Lee Hutchinson's books will be available for purchase.

Instructor Barry Powell began teaching art for The John Waldron Arts Center in Bloomington for more than 16 years ago and now teaches independently at Kat's Performing Arts Studio in Bedford. His Thursday morning classes have been popular and well attended for many years.

The colored pencil art show begins with the reception on Friday, April 27 at 5 p.m. and continues through June 16. The gallery is open Thursday and Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
