Bloomington Chamber Singers To Present Feast On Bach III: Cantatas Of Pentecost And Reformation

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Chamber Singers will present the final concert of their 2017-2018 season with a performance of four Bach cantatas composed for Pentecost, Trinity, and Reformation Sunday.

Conducted by BCS Music Director Gerald Sousa, "Feast on Bach III" will take place on Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 100 N. State Rd. 46. This is the final concert in a yearlong series exploring the great festival cantatas that Bach wrote for the major feast days of the liturgical year.

A preconcert lecture on Bach and his cantatas will be presented at 2 p.m. by Dr. Daniel R. Melamed, Professor of Musicology and Bach scholar at the IU Jacobs School of Music.

Tickets are $20 General Admission; $10 Students, available at the door or in advance at www.chambersingers.info.
