(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was sentenced to five years in prison with two and a half years suspended to supervised probation.

33-year-old Diana Terrell pleaded guilty in a negotiated plea deal to charges of possession of meth. The charges of dealing a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia were dismissed.

Lawrence County Superior Court Judge John Plummer III gave Terrell credit for 195 days served in jail.

Terrell and her husband, 37-year-old Michael Terrell, were arrested in July 26, 2017 after a confidential informant told a Lawrence County Police Department officer heroin could be purchased from Michael Terrell.

A police informant with Terrell and purchased heroin and fentanyl. In a police video of the purchase, Michael is seen weighing the drugs, while a female voice identified as Diana's can be heard.

Lawrence County Drug Task Force officers then served a search warrant at the Terrell's home at 808 Smith Avenue.

Both Terrells were found in a bedroom of the home where officers found used syringes, meth and drug paraphernalia.

Michael Terrell also plead guilty to the charges in a negotiated plea deal. He was sentenced in December to 9 years in jail and given credit for 140 days served.
