10-Year-Old Makes Prank Call Saying Someone Was Trying To Kill Him

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police rushed to Arlington Heights Elementary School Tuesday afternoon after a 10-year-old student dialed 911 saying someone was trying to kill him.

During the first 911 call the child told the dispatcher someone was trying to kill him and then hung up. There was a second hangup call and when the dispatcher called back no one answered the phone.

Bloomington Police Department Capt. Steve Kellams says seven police officer went to the school at 4:30 p.m. and found a 10-year-old male made the prank calls saying he was mad at his teacher and used the school's phone to make the call.

The boy was referred to the juvenile probation department on a charge of calling 911 for a prohibited purpose and then released to a family member.
