(BLOOMINGTON) - The temporary closure of the Walnut Street/Business 37 interchange is on schedule to take place on Monday, March 19.
Crews will reconstruct the on and off ramp lanes, improve drainage and widen shoulders in accordance with interstate highway standards. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of April.
The official detour for the Walnut Street interchange closure is the State Road 46 interchange approximately 3.5 miles to the south. Detour signage will be in place, and motorists are strongly encouraged to use the official detour and not local or county roads.
The duration of the closure is weather dependent, and motorists should plan for potentially longer travel times from March 19 through the end of April.
