Should your child be rear-facing?

It is recommended that children stay in a rear-facing seat until either the height or weight limit is reached for that particular seat (per the manufacturer's manual). This information is often found on the side of the seat either on a sticker, label or embossed directly on the seat.

Always refer to the car seat and vehicle manuals about how to properly install your child's car seat and use the top tether for forward facing car seats. This will help prevent how far your child will move forward during a car crash. Ultimately these best practices will aid in decreasing the likelihood of your child sustaining a sustaining a significant injury during an automobile accident.
