(BLOOMINGTON) - Riley Physicians, in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and
the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, is offering free car seat safety checks to parents, guardians, grandparents,
childcare providers and anyone who drives children in a vehicle.

"Every time you move to the next type of car seat for your child, the safety provided by the seat is reduced," says
Jennifer Hacker, Child Passenger Safety Technician. "Every seat is designed for maximum child safety at each
specific weight, height and age." The Car Seat Check Clinic team takes this information into account during car
seat checks.

Each inspection can take 30 minutes and includes access to valuable information and resources to help keep your child safe. Please bring the following items to your car seat check:

  • The car seat
  • Instruction manual for the vehicle
  • Instruction manual for the car seat
  • The child

Call a Riley Physicians' office to schedule a free car seat check:

  • Clarizz (812) 333- 2304
  • Landmark - (812) 335-2434
  • Arlington - (812) 353-3800
  • Bedford - (812) 277-0118
  • Martinsville - (765) 342-0539

All children less than eight years of age are required by Indiana's child passenger safety law to be properly restrained in a federally approved child restraint system, and children from eight to 15 years-of- age need to be properly restrained in a child restraint or seat belt. Children 13 years-old and younger should ride in the back seat.
