Pekin Man Dies After Crashing Skid-Steer Bobcat

(PEKIN) - The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a death in Pekin that killed one man in what they believe is a farm-related accident.

On Sunday, at approximately 2:17 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff's Department received a 911 regarding a possible death at 6700 East State Road 60 in Pekin.

Emergency crews arrived to find 72-year-old Steven L. Green dead.

According to Deputy Ryan Larrimore, Green was clearing debris on his property with a skid-steer (Bobcat) when he crashed down a steep ravine.

Green died at the scene from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington County Coroner Peg Schell.

Assisting at the scene were Sheriff Roger Newlon, Deputy Mark Blackman and Conservation Officer Neal Brewington., ED: Salem Fire Department and Pierce/Polk Volunteer Fire Department first responders, Washington County EMS, Washington County Coroner's Office, and Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
