(LOOGOOTEE) - A woman was arrested after she got her vehicle stuck in a field on Scenic Hill Road on Tuesday.

At 7:50 a.m. the Martin County Sheriff's Dept. received a complaint from a resident on Scenic Hill Road concerning a truck stuck in a field behind his residence.

Martin County Sheriff's Office Captain Tony Dant, Loogootee Police Department Chief Kelly Rayhill, and Martin County Deputy Tyler Reed responded to the area.

Once on scene, Deputy Reed recognized the vehicle as being a vehicle that had eluded him earlier in the night when he attempted to turn around on it and initiate a traffic stop near US 50 and Brickyard Road.

The female driver was identified as 37-year-old Stephanie Howder of Vincennes.

Deputy Reed utilized his narcotics-certified K9 Virka for a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle. Virka gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics inside the truck.

Police searched the vehicle and found a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance that tested positive for meth. They also found a glass bottle containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana inside the vehicle.

Howders was arrested. During a pat down officers located a glass smoking device containing meth and a black rubber tub containing meth.

Howder was arrested and transported to the Martin County Security Center on charges of possession of meth and marijuana and drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance

This is the 7th drug related arrest in Martin County since Saturday.
