Last updated on Thursday, February 1, 2018

(PEKIN) - A two vehicle crash temporarily closed State Road 60 in Pekin, in front of the Dollar Store.

The eastbound traffic was stopped for a driver, who was attempting to turn into the Dollar Store parking lot, when the driver of the silver vehicle rear ended the driver of the red truck.

The Salem Fire Department responded to the scene to assist members of the Pierce/Polk Volunteer Fire Department with extrication.

The driver of the truck was transported to St. Vincent Hospital by the Washington County Ambulance Service for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The other driver refused treatment at the scene.

Indiana State Police Trooper Brett Walters is investigating the crash and was assisted by New Pekin Town Marshal Jeff Thomas and Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
