Spots Still Open For Indiana Master Naturalist Class At Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge

(SEYMOUR) - Registrations are still being taken for the Indiana Master Naturalist class that will be conducted Wednesday evenings in March and April at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, 12985 E. U.S. 50, Seymour.

The classes will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the visitor center and sponsored by the Muscatatuck Wildlife Society, the refuge's nonprofit support group.

Course instructors will be experts on plants, animals, birds and other natural history topics. Course topics will include birds, mammals, wetlands, botany, tree identification, invasive plants, reptiles and amphibians, the use of a compass and maps, geology, fossils and public lands.

Participants who attend six of the eight course sessions and complete volunteer work will receive a Master Naturalist certificate and a pin.

A $35 fee is charged to pay for course materials. Advance registration is required.
