More Than 30 Firefighters Battled House Fire On Turkey Track Road

(MORGAN CO.) - Several fire departments responded to a fire Friday at a modular home in the 5800 block of Turkey Track Road, near the Monroe-Morgan county line.

A motorist traveling on State Road 37 reported the blaze at 10:25 p.m.

Paragon Volunteer Fire Department and Morgan County's Washington Township Fire Department were called to the scene. Northern Monroe Fire Territory was also dispatched, according to Jason Allen, public information officer for the department. More than 30 firefighters battled the blaze.

Firefighters were able to quickly douse the blaze which damaged half of the home.

The fire was caused by a heat lamp left unattended.

Units remained on the scene for several hours extinguishing hot spots.
