Mitchell Woman Suffers Broken Leg After Being Struck By Vehicle

Last updated on Monday, February 5, 2018

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman suffered a broken leg after being struck by a vehicle while helping another driver on Dixie Highway on Sunday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, Kari Clowers of Mitchell had pulled her 2005 Ford Freestar over to help Nathaniel Hill, whose 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche had a flat tire.

Police say Jodi McCain was northbound on Dixie Highway when she saw the two vehicles pulled over. McCain told police Clower's vehicle was parked diagonally and blocking the road.

She told police she was unable to drive around the vehicles and her vehicle began to slide on the icy road, colliding with the front of Hill's Avalanche.

Clowers was at the driver's door talking to Hill, who was sitting in the vehicle, when she was struck by McCain's vehicle.
