Medical Condition Led To Accident On State Road 37 At Parks Implement Road

(MITCHELL) - A Bedford man was transported to a local hospital after he collapsed after crashing his SUV on State Road 37 near Parks Implement Road on Sunday.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 60-year-old Brent Leonard of Bedford was transported to Indiana University Health Hospital Bloomington and then flown to Methodist Hospital.

Police say Leonard was traveling south on State Road 37 in a 2004 Ford SUV about 8:53 p.m. when his vehicle drifted off the roadway and into a ditch.

When Leonard exited the vehicle, he collapsed. He was unable to speak to police or provide any information about the accident.

Police learned that Leonard suffered from a medical condition that may have caused the crash.
