Bloomfield Student Places First In Young Artist Show

Hannah Walls of Bloomfield received First place for her acrylic painting, ‘Held.’

(NASHVILLE) - The Brown County Art Guild announced a Bloomfield student was among its winners of the 2018 Annual Young Artist Show.

Nineteen entries were accepted this year with Guild Artist Member Wayne Campbell serving as judge.

Hannah Walls of Bloomfield received First place for her acrylic painting, 'Held.'

Other winners include:

  • Pegah Smiley, of Bloomington, received Best of Show with her chalk drawing, 'Self Portrait'
  • Madalyn Spires, of Bedford, received Second place for her Mixed Media painting titled, 'Teawaffleon'
  • Grace Shultz, of Nashville, received 3rd place for her watercolor titled, 'Blue Whale'
  • Jack Donnelly, of Bloomington, received Honorable Mention for his graphite drawing, 'Self Portrait'

A reception and awards ceremony for the artists will be held on Saturday, March 3, from 2-4 p.m. with awards presented at 3 p.m. All work is on display and available for purchase. Visitors are asked to vote for their favorite in the People's Choice Awards, which will also receive an award.

The Brown County Art Guild is located at 48 S. Van Buren Street in the heart of downtown Nashville. Gallery hours during February are Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Sunday noon-4 p.m. or by appointment. For more information call 812-988-6185 or visit
