(BEDFORD) - An Odon woman was arrested after a man reported she took his vehicle from the Olde Downtown Tavern on Monday.

At 9:19 p.m., Bedford Police received a call that 31-year-old Vanessa Hughes had taken a man's vehicle from the Olde Downtown Tavern on 16th Street.

Police Chief Dennis Parsley says that while officers were speaking to the owner of the vehicle, Hughes pulled up to the Tavern.

"She was arrested for driving a vehicle with a suspended driver's license with a prior conviction," he added. "During her arrested, the officers found she had three different baggies of a substance that tested positive for meth. They also found buspirone hydrochloride pills, syringes and a metal spoon. The spoon and syringe also tested positive for meth."

Hughes is facing preliminary charges of possession of meth, possession of legend drugs, unlawful possession of a syringe and conversion. She is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on a $7,500 surety or $755 cash.
