Last updated on Monday, February 5, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - Darcie Fawcett, Monroe County Felony Deputy Prosecutor, announced her candidacy for Judge of the Monroe Circuit Court today.

She is seeking to fill one of the three vacancies. Fawcett has filed her candidacy for Seat 8, a vacancy that will be left by Judge Teresa Harper's 2018 retirement.

Fawcett has the integrity, experience and dedication to do an outstanding job as a Monroe County Circuit Court Judge. Her wide range of experiences, accumulated over decades of public service, provide her with the perspective necessary to make the best possible decisions.

"I am dedicated to serving Monroe County as evidenced by the work I have done to ensure justice for all, especially the most vulnerable--our children and victims of crime. Serving as Circuit Court Judge will allow me to apply my knowledge of the law to focus on matters that significantly affect our community."

Fawcett has decades of experience as a public servant. As a Felony Deputy Prosecutor in Monroe County, Fawcett holds offenders accountable for their crimes while maintaining her fundamental belief in fairness of the law.

As a single mother of two children, she is President of the Fairview Elementary PTO, working with teachers and parents to make Fairview reach its full potential.

Fawcett is President of the Prospect Hill Neighborhood Association, a mayoral appointee to the Board of Parks Commissioners, a City Council appointee to the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association, a member of the Advisory Committee for the Unified Development Ordinance, a member of the Hospital Site Reutilization Steering Committee and a member of the Board of Directors for the Exchange Club of Northside Bloomington.
