Last updated on Tuesday, February 20, 2018

(DUGGER) - A 12-year-old girl was arrested after she allegedly made online threats towards students and staff at Dugger-Union Community School.

The girl was arrested on a felony charge of intimidation around 12:30 a.m. this morning at her home in Shelburn. She was taken to the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village in Vincennes.

Police say the girl made multiple threats through Snapchat.

Sheriff Clark Cottom says officers found no weapons or credible means to carry out the threats, but they handle all threats as if they are real.

"If you threaten our schools, we will hunt you down and arrest you," he added.

Sheriff Cottom says officers will assist the Dugger Town Marshal with foot patrol at the school today.
