(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County Solid Waste Management District is seeking residents of Monroe County, Indiana who are knowledgeable about and interested in environmental issues to serve on its’ Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC).
Are you concerned about things such as environmental quality, waste management and reduction, recycling, water quality and promoting sustainable materials practices? Do you work in an environmental field or the waste management industry?
If so, you would make a great member of the CAC of the Monroe County Solid Waste Management District.
The CAC is comprised of Monroe County residents with knowledge and interest in environmental issues or who are representatives of the waste management industry.
The committee reports to the District Board of Directors (Board) on subjects and problems specified by the Board and can recommend additional subject matter for study or discussion. The CAC is also required to review, discuss and submit written comments to the Board concerning the District's annual proposed budget. Meetings are currently held every other month, although subcommittees may be formed to study specific issues which may meet more frequently.
Members are appointed by the District Board of Directors for a term of one (1) year. All Monroe County residents are invited to serve.
