(BEDFORD) - Due to the increasing number of flu cases, IU Health Bedford Hospital is limiting the number of visitors at any one time to two healthy adults in a patient room.

The policy will be in place until administrators and medical professionals at the facility determine a lower-incident chance for contracting or spreading the flu.

Signs are being posted at the facility, asking all visitors to adhere to the precaution.

The following is being requested:

  • Only essential family members, 18 or older, may visit.
  • Persons who have flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, chills or muscle aches should not visit.
  • Please wear a mask if you have flu-like symptoms and you are here for a doctor's appointment.
  • Please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before entering the building.

If you need additional information in regard to the Visitor Restrictions, please contact Teresa Mathis, RN, Infection Prevention Nurse at IU Health Bedford Hospital at (812) 277-3841
