United Way 2-1-1 Year End 2017 Results For Lawrence County

(BEDFORD) - 2-1-1 is a free and confidential, service that connects residents to essential health and human services.

United Way 2-1-1 South Central Indiana services Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Lawrence, Orange, Scott and Washington Counties.

Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the 2-1-1 center is staffed by specialists to assist you with finding the resources to meet the needs of clients for things such as food, clothing, shelter, rent and utility assistance, and much more.2-1-1 implemented a new state-wide phone system allowing wait times to be reduced as well as allowing more clients to get help.

In 2017, 2-1-1 received 522 requests for service and made 1,732 referrals for Lawrence County.

Other Lawrence County facts:

  • 76 percent of clients were female, 24 percent males
  • 20 percent of clients were between the ages of 30-39
  • 76 percent of clients were Caucasian/White
  • 14 percent of clients had an illness or disability
  • 11 percent of clients had a source of income
  • Clients waited just over a minute and a half to speak with a Community Navigator
  • 56 visitors identifying themselves as living or working in Lawrence County searched our website
  • 99 percent of clients surveyed said they were happy with the friendly, respectful service they received
  • 99 percent of clients surveyed said they would call 2-1-1
