(FRENCH LICK) - Three volunteer fire departments battled a house fire south of French Lick at 8576 West County Road 600 South on Tuesday.
Orange County District 1, French Lick and Dubois County Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze at 2:24 p.m.
The home was the residence of an Indiana State Police trooper, but the individual's name was not released.
The home was a total loss.
Firefighters were on the scene for more than two hours battling the blaze.
