(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County Sheriff deputies were called to a home in the 4300 block of East Paynetown Road Saturday after a man accidentally shot himself.
Police received the call at 3:31 p.m. after a report that a 26-year-old man shot himself in the thigh.
Police say the man was attempting to clean his gun, when the weapon went off.
The man was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
