(EVANSVILLE) - A man accused of killing a former Washington woman and dismembering her body remains jailed in Vanderburgh County without bond.

A judge entered a not guilty plea on behalf of 38-year-old Earl Martin during Thursday's initial hearing. Martin, also a Washington native, is charged with murder and obstruction of justice in the December shooting death of 41-year-old Erica Bradfield.

Portions of Bradfield's body were found in trash bags behind the home Martin shared with his mother.

Court records show that Vanderburgh County prosecutors plan to seek a life without parole sentenced if Martin is convicted.

Martin was also charged on Dec. 19th with murder and robbery in the December death of a 20-year-old Christopher Hoefling and he is accused of shooting Brandon Waldroup on Dec. 18.

Martin allegedly pulling Waldroup from the driver's seat of Waldroup's car and drove away with Hoefling still in the car. A second suspect, 26-year-old Jalil Fellows, allegedly set up what was supposed to be a meeting so Martin could buy marijuana from Waldroup.

In that case, Martin is charged with murder, felony murder, attempted murder, two counts of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury as level 2 felonies and conspiracy to commit robbery as a level 5 felony.
