Loogootee Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase

(MOORESVILLE) - A Loogootee man was arrested after a high-speed chase.

The chase started around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in Morgan County after officers clocked the vehicle traveling at more than 100 miles per hour.

Police say the driver of the car, Kyle Lee, made his way to Interstate 70 traveling west.

That is when deputies from the Clay County Sheriff's Office and Brazil Police Department jumped in to help.

According to the report, Brazil Police officers placed stop sticks on Interstate 70 near the 23 mile-marker.

Lee was able to avoided the stop sticks, exiting southbound on State Road 59.

Police say when Lee saw police a little further ahead, he did a U-Turn and drove into a field to escape. Officers were able to catch up with Lee and arrested him.

He was then turned over to Mooresville Police who arrested him on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle; resisting law enforcement; reckless driving; criminal recklessness; possession of a hypodermic needle; possession of paraphernalia; and criminal mischief, along with numerous traffic violations.
