Last updated on Thursday, January 4, 2018

(FRENCH LICK) - After a year of investigation and following up on leads, detectives are still looking for information in the murder of 66-year-old James Bryson.

Bryson was found dead on December 27th, 2016 at 11387 West County Road 50 South in French Lick after concerned family members asked police to check on Bryson's welfare. His family had not heard from him for two days.

French Lick officers went to the residence at 11387 West County Road 50 South, and found that all doors and windows were locked, with no signs of forced entry. After numerous attempts to make contact with anyone inside, French Lick police forced their way into the home, finding Bryson dead inside. The State Police were then requested to assist in the investigation.

Police say Bryson was staying with his sister at the home. She was out of town visiting family for the Christmas holiday.

A $5,000 reward has also been established for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of James Bryson.

Detectives are asking that anyone with information about Bryson's whereabouts from Christmas Eve until Wednesday afternoon, or any other pertinent information, contact the Jasper Post of the Indiana State Police by calling 812-482-1441. All callers may remain anonymous.
