Expect Single Lane Restrictions On I-69 for Bridge and Drainage Work

Last updated on Monday, January 8, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - The end of frigid temperatures will allow work to resume on I-69 Section 5, resulting in lane restrictions in some parts of the work zone.

Weather permitting, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, the left lane of northbound I-69 will be closed from the CSX rail overpass to the SR 46 interchange for drain installation. The right lane of southbound I-69 will be closed during the same time at Tapp Road to allow for bridge work.

Also from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the left lane of northbound I-69 will be closed from around Worm's Way to just past Oliver Winery. The left lane of southbound I-69 will be closed from the Bean Blossom Overflow to about Acuff Road. Both lane restrictions are for guardrail installation.

INDOT reminds motorists traveling through the I-69 Section 5 construction zone that even though there are four lanes open throughout most of the corridor, the posted speed limit remains 45 miles per hour.
