(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman missing for two weeks was found dead on Friday morning during a search of her neighborhood.

A Bloomington Police Department detective found the body of 54-year-old Angel Scroggins lying in the back of a boat sitting in a grassy lot next to a wooded area at Seventh and Spring streets; which is about 100 yards from the mobile home where she lived.

Police say Scroggins was last seen around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 11 at Valhalla Mobile Manor, 1709 W. Eighth Street. Her husband says she left home on foot and never returned. Police say Scroggins left home wearing clothing not appropriate for winter weather and temperatures dropped in the single digits overnight.

Two neighbors in the mobile home park told police that Scroggins visited them that morning, asking for cigarettes, but didn't have any idea where she had went after leaving.

According to Lt. John Kovach, police began looking around the home at 10 a.m. and found her body within 30 minutes.

Police say they found tin foil and a straw, associated with drug use, in the boat near her body. Officials contacted Scroggins' family an hour later after they identified her.

Police did not suspect foul play because Scroggins had a history of leaving home for extended periods of time.

An autopsy is scheduled in Bedford.
