(BLOOMINGTON) - On Tuesday, the Indiana State Police Bloomington District A.C.E.S. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) conducted a criminal saturation patrol in Monroe and Greene Counties. As a result of this patrol, three local residents were arrested on drug charges.
Just after 6 p.m., Trooper Riley Nungester and Sergeant Greg Day observed a vehicle operating on Patterson Drive near Second Street with no working taillights. The male passenger, 38-year-old Seth Patterson of Bloomington, was found to be wanted on warrant through Owen County. In the process of arresting Patterson, troopers found him to be in possession of syringes, drug paraphernalia, approximately 3 grams of heroin and just over 2 grams of meth.
After Patterson attempted to discard the meth and heroin at the scene, he was arrested, then incarcerated at the Monroe County Jail on charges of dealing heroin or a narcotic drug, Level 4 felony; possession of heroin or a narcotic drug, Level 6 felony; possession of meth, Level 6 felony; unlawful possession of syringes, Level 6 felony; obstruction of justice, Level 6 felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, Class C misdemeanor and was wanted on a warrant in Owen County.
At 10:30 p.m. Trooper Caleb Garvin observed a vehicle operating with no license plate on State Road 43 at the Greene/Monroe County line. During the traffic stop, indicators of criminal activity were observed. When Trooper Richard Klun deployed his K9 Loki, he gave a positive alert. Female passenger, 40-year-old Kary Todd, of Solsberry, was found to be in possession of heroin. A male passenger, 41-year-old Jeffery Crowder of Bloomington, was found to be in possession of meth.
Both Todd and Crowder were incarcerated at the Greene County Jail. Todd is facing charges of possession of heroin or a narcotic drug, Level 6 felony and Crowder is facing a charge of possession of meth, a Level 6 felony.
