(AUSTIN) - Austin Police are investigating the death of 37-year-old Deven Mulley.

Police found Mulley's body Sunday afternoon in the backyard of a home in the 400 block of West Maple Street. Police say Mulley lived near the residence where his body was found.

It is unknown known at this time what caused Mulley's death, or how long he had been dead.

Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma to his body.

Mulley has a long criminal history, dating back to various traffic violations in 1995, theft, invasion of privacy and others. In 2015 he pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a syringe with a previous conviction.

The Scott County Coroner's Office took custody of Mulley's body and will be further examining the body and performing toxicology tests.

The Indiana State Police with the assistance of the Austin City Police will be conducting a death investigation to make sure there was no foul play involved.

Assisting at the scene were Jennings Township Volunteer Fire Department, Scott County EMS. and the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
