Accident Closed Mill Creek Road Wednesday

(MITCHELL) - An accident on Mill Creek Road on Wednesday morning closed the road for several hours while crews replaced utility poles.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, at 9:56 a.m. 61-year-old Carl Duncan, who was driving a 1991 Turner Heavy Haul Mack truck, was pulling out of the entrance of Lehigh and had forgot to lower his dump bed when pulling onto Mill Creek Road.

The bed of the truck caught phone lines, broke two phone line poles and tore down phone and fiber optic cable.

Mill Creek Road was closed between Meridian and Ball roads for several hours while crews replaced utility poles and lines.

Duncan was not injured in the accident.
