(CAMPBELLSBURG) - A 14-year-old Orleans student died from an accidental shooting at a home on East County Road 800 North in Campbellsburg.
Rex "Rexie" William Pruett is the son of Rex Pruett and Jessica Hubbard.
According to an Indiana State Police report, Rex Sr. and his two children were planning to go outside and do some target practice when the father received a phone call. While he was on the phone, Rexie's sister unintentionally shot Rexie with a .22-caliber handgun.
Rex put his son in his vehicle and drove to St. Vincent Salem Hospital where Rexie died from his injury.
