Two Women Flown To Hospital After Head-On Collision

(SALEM) - Two women were injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Mulberry and Bristol streets in Salem on Tuesday morning.

According to a Salem Police report, Mark Alcorn Jr., of Palmyra was traveling east on Mulberry Street when his 2005 Chevrolet Malibu experienced a mechanical problem causing the vehicle to travel into the westbound lane striking a 2013 Ford Fusion, driven by Sandra Woodward of Salem, head-on.

Sandra Woodward and her passenger, Ashley Pierce of New Salisbury, were flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

Alcorn and his passenger were treated at the scene.
