Senior Trooper William Brown Promoted To Corporal

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter announced the promotion of Senior Trooper William Brown to the rank of Corporal.

Corporal Brown will serve as the District Duty Officer, overseeing various line command and administrative duties at the Bloomington Post. Corporal Brown will also oversee the functional supervision of Bloomington District operations and delegate assignments to troopers working in the field.

Originally from Morgantown, IN, Corporal Brown is a 1995 graduate of Brown County High School. He studied in the Law Enforcement Program at Vincennes from 1995-1997 and then proudly served in the United States Army from 1997-2003. Brown was a former Military Police K-9 Officer.

Corporal Brown was a member of the 67th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and in 2007 was appointed as a Trooper. He was then assigned to the Bloomington District where he primarily patrolled Owen County.

Brown and his family live in rural Owen County.
