Learn How The Forest Has Changed

(BEDFORD) - Join Hoosier National Forest representative Teena Ligman on Tuesday, Jan. 23 for a program on how our forests in the east have changed over the the past 200 years.

"The forests continue to change in many ways you may not have thought of," She says. "Learn about our eastern forests and how settlement and invasive pathogens have changed our forests, with many species lost."

Those attending will also learn why species are lost and how they may be restored.

The program will be held at the Wilson Park Shelter beginning at 6 p.m. Those attending are asked to RSVP by Friday, Jan. 19th at the Bedford Parks Department by calling (812) 275-5692 or emailing Jordan Webb at jwebb@bedford.in.us or Gary Dorsett at gdorsett@bedford.in.us

The event is sponsored by US Forest Service, Purdue Extension, Bedford Parks Department, Lawrence County Soil & Water Conservation District and the Department of Natural Resources.
