Hoosier Hills Employees Complete 2017 Community Projects

Last updated on Tuesday, December 26, 2017

(BEDFORD) - The completion and results of Hoosier Hills Credit Union (HHCU) Community Projects were recently celebrated at the credit union’s annual Christmas gathering. Every year, each HHCU Service Center and department choose an initiative to which they devote their time and resources. These personal initiatives are in addition to the more than 200 unique organizations HHCU supports corporately.

"For years, the credit union and our staff members have supported various community projects," recalls HHCU President and CEO George McNichols. "As the credit union grew, our give back efforts also grew. We haven't always said a lot about it, because that was never why we did it. Today, we are making a real difference in every community where we operate."

The 28 organizations and families supported by HHCU employees over 2017 include Becky's Place, Blackhawk Blessing, the Humane Society, Relay for Life, food pantries as well as various organizations serving families, youth and the elderly. Groups stocked resource shelves, offered cleaning services, delivered cheer bags and gifts, and served and packed meals.

"We believe in 'people helping people,' which is a founding principal of what a credit union is," said McNichols. "I am proud of what our staff has done to support the efforts of so many worthy organizations who help people every day in south central and southern Indiana."
