Courts Offer Those Wanted On Warrants Amnesty Program

(BEDFORD) - Lawrence Superior Courts I and II are offering an amnesty program to help those with outstanding warrants.

If a person knows he or she is wanted on a theft, conversion, check deception or failure to appear warrant, the person can visit the court without fear of arrest during business hours beginning Jan. 2.

The program ends Jan. 31.

Lawrence Superior Court I, which is Judge Michael Robbins' court, deals with the check deception, theft and conversion warrants. Lawrence County Superor Court II Judge William William Sleva will mainly handle the failure to appear warrants.

Superior Court I is open between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Superior Court II is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Those wanted on warrants need to meet with court personnel to see if they can resolved the issue or court date needs to be set to address the issue.
