Breakfast With A Forester

Last updated on Tuesday, December 12, 2017

(UNDATED) - There are two upcoming local opportunities to have breakfast with a forester and learn more about trees; one in Paoli on December 19th, and one in Bedford on December 20th.

On Tuesday, December 19th, foresters will be at the Ritz Restaurant in Paoli from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. to informally visit with people about forestry. The Ritz Restaurant is located at 2008 West Main Street (Highway 150 W) across from the City Park.

On Wednesday, December 20th, you're invited to come by and visit with foresters over breakfast at the Arby's restaurant south of Bedford on Hwy 37, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.

At both places, foresters are available to answer questions about trees and woodlands. Stop by, pick up your breakfast, and then join local foresters to ask questions about natural resources.

The informal "breakfast with a forester" is being sponsored in local counties by the White River RC&D Forestry Committee as a way to better inform people about forestry. John Stambaugh, committee chair, explains, "There isn't a presentation involved, we just want to be available to answer people's questions and thought at Christmas time when people are out and about, it might be a good time for them to stop in and take some time to find out about their trees".

There is no fee for getting advice, and Stambaugh said the foresters will have information on a variety of topics available for people to pick up.

For more information contact John P. Stambaugh at forester@custom.net or call (812) 863-7272.
