Bedford Officer Injured After Crashing Police Car

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford Police officer was injured after he crashed his patrol car on Fifth Street responding to a domestic fight on Saturday night.

According to a Bedford Police report, 23-year-old Clint Swanson of Madison was diving a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria east on Fifth Street and was approaching E Street when he lost control of the patrol car as he rounded a curve.

The vehicle ran off the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. The vehicle then stopped next to a different tree.

Officer Swanson complained of lower leg pain was was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Damage to the vehicle is estimated between $10,001 and $25,000.
