Last updated on Monday, December 4, 2017

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford couple were arrested after Bedford Police received a call about a physical fight Friday afternoon in the 1700 block of 23rd Street.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, when officers arrived at the home they found the front door partially opened.

"Officers announced their arrived and found a female inside who told the officers the two involved in the fight had left the home," says Chief Parsley. "Officers knew the two involved were wanted on warrants and searched the home."

They found 30-year-old Daniel Bailey finding in a bedroom closet and 37-year-old Jessica Abner hiding behind the bedroom door.

Both were arrested.

Bailey was arrested on a warrant for a parole violation.

"As officers were taking him to the police vehicle, Mr. Bailey became combative attempting to pull from officers," Chief Parsley added. "He was then charged with resisting arrest."

Abner was arrested on a warrant in another county and additional charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a syringe.

"She was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a syringe with a white-powdery substance that tested positive for meth," added Chief Parsley.
