Symetra Tour's Donald Ross Classic Returns To French Lick in 2018

Last updated on Friday, November 24, 2017

(FRENCH LICK) - The legacy of women’s golf at French Lick Resort will once again be on display as the future stars of the LPGA will compete in the Symetra Tour’s Donald Ross Classic July 12-14, 2018.

The week-long charity event and celebration of women's golf, hosted by Resort Charities, the charitable foundation of French Lick Resort, will benefit the Orange County Habitat for Humanity.

"We are extremely excited to have the Symetra Tour and all the wonderful and talented players returning next summer," Dave Harner, director of golf, said. "To be able to continue impacting women's golf, as well as a great organization like Habitat for Humanity that will touch the lives of so many families in our region, is truly an honor for everyone involved."

The Orange County Habitat for Humanity provides a major impact on the French Lick community and the surrounding region by providing home ownership opportunities to low income families through the building of new single-family dwellings using donated materials and labor. Since 1992, the organization has developed and constructed 27 new homes for Orange County residents.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to partner with French Lick Resort Charities on the Symetra Tour to raise funds to provide affordable home ownership opportunities in Orange County," Stacy Ables, the OCHH fundraising coordinator, said. "Our mission is to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter and this relationship will allow us to expand our reach and bring awareness to the need for affordable housing."

The Donald Ross Classic at French Lick, won this year by Erynne Lee at 12-under-par in an exciting three-hole playoff over August Kim, will feature 150 aspiring LPGA Tour players competing in a 54-hole stroke play event for a $200,000 purse and a spot on the 2018 LPGA Tour.

Mark your calendar and join Indiana's premier resort destination for an exciting event that will have a major impact on the community.
