Last updated on Thursday, November 9, 2017

(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says 16 state parks and associated properties will close to the public for four days this month so hunters can reduce the size of their deer herds.

The parks affected are Chain O'Lakes, Charlestown, Clifty Falls, Fort Harrison, Harmonie, Lincoln, McCormick's Creek, Ouabache, Pokagon and Trine State Recreation Area, Potato Creek, Shades, Shakamak, Spring Mill and Cave River Valley Natural Area, Tippecanoe River, Versailles, and Whitewater Memorial.

Those parks will be closed Monday and Tuesday and Nov. 27-28.0

Only hunters selected from a draw in September and their designated hunting partners may participate in the hunts.

Additional information on state park deer reductions is at stateparks.IN.gov/6289.htm .
