Heltonville Woman Injured In Rear-End Collision

Last updated on Monday, November 13, 2017

(BEDFORD) - A Heltonville woman was injured after a rear-end collision at the intersection of State Road 37 and Patton Hill on Thursday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, Sgt. Andy Blackburn was blocking the intersection with a police vehicle at 6:18 p.m. for a funeral escort.

Police say 56-year-old Donna Carson was traveling south on State Road 37 when she saw Blackburn turn on his emergency lights. She quickly applied the brakes on her 2008 Chrysler Sebring. That is when she was hit in the rear by a 2001 Peterbilt 385 truck, driven by 51-year-old David Morgan of English.

Carson complained of head pain and was taken by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment. Morgan was not injured.
