Funeral Services For Montgomery Firefighter Scheduled For Tuesday

(MONTGOMERY) - Funeral services are scheduled Tuesday for 27-year-old Kendall Murphy of Montgomery.

Murphy, a member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, was killed in the line of duty Friday night at the scene of a crash along Old Highway 50, just west of County Road 100 South.

Murphy was struck and killed by a pick-up truck driven by 26-year-old Colby Blake of Cannelburg. Blake, a fellow volunteer firefighter, has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and reckless driving.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Simon J. Graber Complex. Burial will follow in Providence Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Providence Mennonite Church.
